After hoarding my TTC and IF factoids like bottles of water during Armageddon, I've finally started telling people about it. Formerly it was just NoodleGuy (of course), and two friends who knew. We chose not to tell our families because 1) my family seems to take on all stress as their own and I spend all my time comforting them about my own problems and 2) NGuy's family would be hyper-solicitous and ask me more questions than I'm comfortable answering right now. They call basically every other day, which is really nice but not at all how I grew up. And I just cannot handle being asked every other day in sweet, concerned tones about how I'm doing. We're hoping we don't have to tell anyone until we place their grandson/daughter in their arms, but then we've been hoping that for almost 2.5 years now so I think the jig may be up.
Anyway, I told some of my neighbors (temporary insanity), a group of girlfriends last weekend (a great release and happy I did it) and one college friend via email this morning. The floodgates are opened. At least a teensy bit.
And btw, these 2WW - my final, precious IUI 2WW - are CRAWLING by. Torture.

Go Gentle by Maria Semple is a stunning, stunning, stunning book, and I’ve
loved all of the philosophical questions woven through the book, even more

Here from LFCA - welcome to blogging :)
Hi, I came over from LFCA. I hope this IUI cycle does the trick for you guys!
And I totally get where you're coming from on the family issue. We haven't discussed anything related to our cycle with our respective families. My mom would leave me feeling defensive and my husband's family, much like NGuy's, ask way too many personal questions.
Good luck to you!
What is LFCA, and why are we all beign welcomed to blogging if we've been at it for a year and a half?
Good luck with this cycle, it seems like it ware really confusing!
I hope this is the cycle that surprises you with great news!
